Hola! Just returned from Akumal, Mexico! We had a blast and I am all relaxed and ready to begin the busy spring and summer season of weddings, portraits and those crazy high school seniors. Speaking of crazy...this year is my 25th high school reunion--Orono Spartans--I think Oreo Martians is a better name but who asked me? "Welcome to the Oreo Martians Class of '82 Reunion"! Well, I digress....

Recently, I have been feeling a nice sense of satisfaction with my job...preserving memories for people.....
I lost my best-friend a year ago to a rapid disease. She was only 7 years old. OK, she was my dog, Morgan, a bright-eyed yellow lab who saw me through some of the roughest times of my life. I was so devastated by the loss of my constant companion..... It was similar to how I felt when my beloved Grandmother past away 12 years ago. Even though she was my elder of some 70 years, I never felt more comfortable with anyone drinking a cold beer .
With both of these dear loved ones, after they passed away, I felt this urgent desire to create memorials for them. Being a photographer, I had plenty of photos to choose from...I felt so relieved that I had these images--remembrances of my loved ones...memorials to their lives and my connection to them...my love for them....

Bolder Boulder 2006Upon returning from Destin, we joined in the annual Bolder Boulder 10K. My daughter, front and center, finished in under an hour. And my step-dad, left, finished in 51:20. At 67 years old, we are biting our nails to see if he finished in first place for his age group! Michael and I had a difficult time keeping up with my 75 year old mom on the right.
I'm back from Destin, Florida located in the Panhandle area and I think I will open a satellite office there! I love it! We stayed at my sister's condo, the Beach House, which overlooks the emerald green coast of this area. The ocean reminds me of the Caribbean--clear--you feel like you are floating in a crystal.
